Origins

The interesting move here is the pineapple sorbet as an opening note. Most men's fragrances, and even many niche ones, reach for citrus or mint when they want freshness, so a dessert-adjacent fruit note at the front of a men's release is a gamble. The bay leaf provides a slight bitter green edge that anchors the fruit, and the mandarin supplies brightness without lemon's sharpness. The heart then pivots away from the fruit entirely into a classic aromatic fougere structure with clary sage, geranium, and lavender. That pivot matters because it keeps the pineapple from reading juvenile.

The evolution

The pineapple sorbet and mandarin hit immediately, sweet and sharp, with bay leaf adding a green bitter edge that keeps the fruit from going candy-sweet. Within around 15 minutes the lavender and clary sage arrive, and the whole thing cools down into a clean herbal register.
