The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Coyotl builds its identity around cultural translation, translating Mexican heritage into scent. Feeling Goud is something different. Less pre-Hispanic mythology, more the simple pleasure of warmth. The name itself is a play: 'Goud' sounds like 'good' in English, but the soft G carries Spanish phonetics, a Mexican ear turned toward indulgence. Aneberg Prz Lui designed this fragrance around a single question: what does feeling good actually smell like? The answer moved through whiskey warmth, powdery florals, and leather depth, pleasure without apology, comfort that still has an edge.
The perfumer layered violet and iris as a powdery floral opening, then built a warm heart of chocolate, coffee, and oud with a boozy liquor note threaded through. Leather, tobacco, and smoky mahogany anchor the base, with a whisper of cumin to keep things grounded. The whiskey note carries the fragrance from first spray to final drydown, a warm, sweet thread that keeps the leather from feeling too heavy and the powdery florals from floating away. It's a balancing act that takes a steady hand.
The evolution
The opening is immediate: violet and iris soften the whiskey's boozy warmth, creating a powdery floral cloud that sits close to the skin. That phase is brief, maybe 20 minutes, before the chocolate and coffee in the heart begin to rise. The liquor note lingers, blending with the chocolate into something rich and slightly sweet. The drydown is where Feeling Goud earns its name. Leather and tobacco arrive together, smoky mahogany adding warmth, the cumin providing an earthy counterweight. The whiskey note doesn't disappear, it deepens, settling into the leather like something that was always meant to be there. On fabric, this fragrance lasts into the next day. On skin, the progression moves faster, but the leather-tobacco drydown still holds by the second hour. It's a fragrance that transforms rather than fades.
Cultural impact
Feeling Goud has found its audience among those who appreciate powdery florals paired with warmth and leather. Its unisex positioning and distinctive character have made it a standout in Coyotl's catalog, resonating with wearers who want something culturally grounded yet unconventional. The fragrance has attracted attention in niche fragrance circles for its unexpected balance of softness and depth.
