AQUARIUS

What makes Aquarius structurally interesting is the tension between its cold, translucent top and its grounded base. Strawberry opens sharp and almost frosted, like fruit pulled from a fridge rather than a field, while aquatic notes and lily of the valley push toward glassy, mineral territory. But the base refuses to let it stay weightless. Moss drags the composition back toward earth, and amber adds a resinous hum that keeps the whole thing tethered. The opening might suggest something disposable, but underneath there's a slow warmth that builds.

The evolution

The opening belongs to strawberry, cold and almost candied, undercut by something metallic and wet from the aquatic accord. It reads like the smell of stepping out of air conditioning into warm air, or biting into fruit that's been sitting in a bowl of ice water. As the composition develops, the strawberry pulls back and the jasmine arrives, not loudly, but with a creamy, slightly green sweetness that muguet softens into something more innocent. The heart unfolds gradually before the transition begins. Moss arrives quietly, a damp forest-floor impression, and amber settles underneath like warm resin on skin. The drydown isn't heavy, but it holds. Late into the wear, what remains is a faint sweetness, a trace of moss, and amber close to the skin, still detectable on a sleeve the next morning.
