The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Cloudar arrived in 2026 as Better World Fragrance House's newest Eau de Parfum, a composition built around attraction, instinct, and the energy that pulls two people into the same orbit. The official positioning centers on a singular idea: the air changes when someone walks in. Not because they announced themselves. Because the senses sharpened. That shift in the room is the entire brief. Designed to unfold gradually, the fragrance is a portrait of presence, the kind that lives between intrigue and undeniable closeness.
What makes Cloudar interesting is how it handles the tension between freshness and intimacy. Most fresh-leaning compositions either stay cool and fleeting or pivot hard into something heavier. Cloudar threads the needle. Nashi pear and mandarin orange open with a crisp, almost juicy clarity, then candied ginger introduces warmth without tipping into spice. The heart softens with clary sage, jasmine sambac, and lily of the valley, pulling the composition toward skin rather than air. By the time tonka bean and vetiver settle in, the fragrance has traded its cool opening for something warmer, quieter, closer. It's a slow pivot from public to private.
The evolution
On skin, Cloudar opens with the bright snap of mandarin and the gentle sting of candied ginger. Pear floats just underneath, giving the first fifteen minutes a translucent, almost watery sweetness. There's nothing aggressive about it. This is the cleanest the fragrance will ever smell. As the first hour stretches into the second, the ginger fades and the florals take over. Jasmine sambac adds a creamy warmth. Clary sage grounds the heart with a soft herbal edge that keeps the sweetness honest. Lily of the valley brings the powder, the softness, the suggestion of skin without actually touching it. By hour four, the base has fully arrived. Tonka bean smooths everything out. Haitian vetiver adds a quiet green shadow underneath, a rooted dampness that never feels heavy. Atlas cedar gives it structure without weight, a dry woody grain that holds the whole composition upright.
Cultural impact
Cloudar draws on a palette of ingredients that carry their own quiet histories. Nashi pear, the crisp fruit at the heart of the opening, brings a clean sweetness that reads as universally approachable, the kind of fruit you might find in any market from late summer through early autumn. Pairing that crispness with candied ginger and mandarin gives the composition a thoughtful balance: the warmth of spice, the brightness of citrus, and the cooling translucence of pear working in concert rather than competition.
