The Story
Why it exists.
For Nomade Naturelle, perfumer Caroline Dumur reached for natural materials to reimagine Chloé's free-spirited signature. The brief was deceptively simple: reinvent the house character through nature's palette. Dumur chose an unusual anchor: dates. Mirabelle plum joined as counterpoint, tart, jammy, unexpected. Together they set the tone: sweet but not soft, adventurous but wearable. Egyptian jasmine absolute and freesia would build the heart, sandalwood and vanilla the base. A composition that could only come from asking what happens when you let nature lead. The fruity opening creates an immediate impression of concentrated sweetness, the kind that feels both indulgent and grounded. The mirabelle adds a brightness that lifts the blend, preventing it from becoming heavy.

The Beginning
What makes Nomade Naturelle work is the tension in its opening. Dates carry a sticky, almost savory sweetness. Mirabelle plum cuts through with a bright tartness, preventing the sweetness from cloying. This fruity duo creates a distinctive opening that stands apart from more conventional fruit notes. The natural materials mean the opening shifts as it warms on skin, the mirabelle softening while the dates linger with depth. The jasmine-freesia heart then unfolds gradually, neither overwhelming nor disappearing.
The Evolution
The opening hits immediately with sticky-sweet dates and mirabelle plum's tart brightness cutting through. The first moments are fruity and undeniably sweet. Then the florals arrive. Jasmine asserts itself while freesia keeps things light and powdery. Neither overwhelms; they complement each other. By the third hour, sandalwood and vanilla have taken over. The drydown is warm, creamy, and intimate, the kind of base that stays close to skin rather than projecting. Oakmoss surfaces here too, adding an earthy counterweight to the sweetness. On most skin types, expect 4-6 hours of wear with a soft sillage that demands leaning in. The fragrance evolves from a bright, fruity opening through a delicate floral heart to a warm, intimate base, each stage revealing new dimensions while maintaining a cohesive character throughout its wear.
Cultural Impact
Nomade Naturelle arrived in 2022, bringing natural-origin compositions to a mainstream luxury audience. The fragrance occupies a distinctive position, balancing accessibility with authenticity. Its approach keeps it grounded in contemporary taste while offering something beyond typical mass-market offerings. This balance between reach and genuineness defines its place in the broader fragrance landscape. The composition speaks to those seeking connection to natural materials without sacrificing the polish expected from a luxury house.
The House
France · Est. 1952
Chloé is a French fashion house that entered the fragrance world in 1975 with an eponymous feminine scent. The brand works with Coty for fragrance production and has built a portfolio of 76 perfumes spanning floral, woody, and fresh scent families. Led since October 2023 by creative director Chemena Kamali, Chloé continues to channel the free-spirited femininity envisioned by its founder Gaby Aghion, who established the house in 1952 as a pioneering force in luxury ready-to-wear. The fragrance collection, including signature releases like the 2008 Chloé Eau de Parfum and the Atelier des Fleurs range launched in 2019, maintains the house's romantic aesthetic through light florals, rose-forward compositions, and elegant bottle designs featuring the signature pleated glass and hand-tied ribbon.

Nomade Naturelle sounds like an afternoon in late summer, warm, unhurried, and slightly melancholic. The fruit sweetness has an edge of bittersweet, like sun through dusty windows. The floral heart carries softness without fragility, and the base feels like fabric dried on warm stone. This is the kind of fragrance that belongs to a specific hour, and the music should match that specificity.
