Whipped Marshmallow Dream arrived in 2025 as part of Victoria's Secret's Frosted Fantasies collection. The scent was composed by Elena Valdivieso Ruiz, whose work for the house carries a sweetness that bends toward something moodier than the usual confection. The brief reads on the nose: take marshmallow, the most innocent note in gourmand perfumery, and run it through something smokier. Not burnt sugar exactly, but the memory of a fire that was lit somewhere nearby. The opening carries that tension right away, a sweetness that arrives candied at the top before settling into something with a faintly charred register underneath.
What makes the composition worth pausing on is the deliberate tension between the cream and the char. Apple blossom and red berries sit up top with a pink, candied brightness, jasmine at the heart pushes the floral in a syrupy rather than dewy direction, and then marshmallow lands on a base of musk and woods. That last move is the whole trick. The woods underneath the marshmallow give it weight and a faintly resinous quality, dragging the note into a territory that reads smoky-sweet rather than simply sweet.
