The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Mahsam Raza built Smoked Pomme Hotness as part of the house's Inspired Hybrid line, a pour that treats smoke and fruit not as separate chapters but as a single conversation. The opening swings with green apple brightness cut by cinnamon heat, the kind of accord that fills a space before the wearer has even sat down. Smoke arrives woven in from the start, threading through the fruit so the two become inseparable rather than sequential. As the hours pass, the composition deepens into tobacco and oakmoss territory, gaining weight and a faintly resinous pull that keeps the fire alive rather than letting the scent collapse into simple sweetness.
What makes the structure interesting is the apple, and it's listed more than once across the note architecture, regular apple and Green Apple both appearing in the formula. That repetition isn't decorative. It's the perfumer insisting the fruit stays present through the whole arc, not just the opening seconds. Cinnamon rides alongside from the first spray, and the smoke accord arrives early too, so the composition refuses to behave like a typical fruity-spicy that fades to pure vanilla sweetness.
The evolution
The opening is loud. Green apple and cinnamon arrive together like a dessert plate set down in a dim room, sharp fruit, the prick of spice, a waft of something already burning. The smoke isn't waiting politely in line. It's woven into the first breath of the scent, mingling with the apple so the two become inseparable from the very first spray. As the composition settles, the tobacco absolute deepens, pulling the sweetness darker, more leathery, more like the interior of a lounge at the late end of the night. Oakmoss arrives quietly underneath, giving the mid-phase a mossy, almost forest-floor dampness that keeps the smoke from going acrid or sharp. This is the phase that surprises. The fruit hasn't left, but it's now a background character, simmering while the tobacco and oakmoss do the heavy lifting in the foreground.
Cultural impact
Smoked Pomme Hotness sits in a space that fragrance enthusiasts know well, the territory where wearers want tobacco-amber weight and fruit-forward openings to share the same bottle. It appeals to the person who already knows what notes they gravitate toward and wants something with that smoky, spiced-apple profile for evenings when a richer pour feels right. The hookah-and-brandy character gives the scent a specific mood, lounge-leaning, after-dinner, the kind of fragrance that pairs naturally with low lighting and a longer conversation. It's not a daytime office scent, and it doesn't try to be.
