Why it exists.
The beginning
Mahsam Raza composed Liberated Veil Of Skin for The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line, released in 2025. The brief was simple and precise: capture the sensation of skin that has just been uncovered. Not bare, not bare, not naked in any provocative sense, but the particular clarity that arrives in the moment a veil lifts and light reaches skin that hasn't seen it yet. Raza built the composition around that idea of first exposure, selecting ingredients that read luminous rather than heavy. Green mandarin and bergamot carry the opening brightness. Orange blossom softens the transition into something floral and warm. Lavender anchors the base with a clean aromatic thread that keeps the whole composition feeling freshly turned rather than perfumed.
The structure of this composition is interesting for what it omits. Raza built the heart around orange blossom alone, and that single-note choice gives the composition a transparency that lets every layer breathe. There's no heavy white floral weight to anchor the middle phase, no dense construction pulling the focus downward. Instead, the orange blossom floats, delicate and direct, allowing the surrounding notes to remain legible. The lavender base is equally deliberate, and its placement in the base position shapes the entire final impression.
