The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Imagine Fierce is part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Hybrid collection, a line built around compositions that rework familiar blueprints rather than reproducing them note for note. The brief behind Imagine Fierce was a citrus-aromatic woody composition that opens cold and finishes warm, versatile enough for daily wear. Calabrian bergamot, Sicilian orange, Tunisian neroli and citron drive the opening, while rosemary, sage, cardamom, ginger and cinnamon build the aromatic middle. Underneath, guaiac wood, sandalwood, Brazilian rosewood, oakmoss and vetiver form a stacked wood floor, with frankincense and fir adding a soft resin cushion that keeps the base from going flat.
What makes Imagine Fierce worth a second look is the layering. The citrus opening pulls from at least four sources: Calabrian bergamot, Sicilian orange, Tunisian neroli, and citron, with lemon stacked underneath. Then the aromatic mid-section brings rosemary, sage, cardamom, ginger and cinnamon together with black tea, which gives the whole thing a dry, tannic backbone that supports the brighter top notes without competing with them.
The evolution
On skin, Imagine Fierce behaves like a relay. The opening runs hard, all sharp citrus and green petitgrain bouncing off neroli, with the black tea starting to surface like steam off a cup. Soon the citrus has stepped back and the aromatic spices take the lead: cardamom and rosemary hold the center, cinnamon trails along the edges, and ginger adds a clean heat that warms without burning. The florals arrive quietly through jasmine, rose and lily of the valley, but they never take over. They hover, dusting the spices with a soft white-flower haze rather than steering the composition. The woods settle in as the hours pass: guaiac and sandalwood form the floor, oakmoss and vetiver give it depth, and the frankincense and fir lend a soft resin that holds everything together.
Cultural impact
Imagine Fierce sits in the Inspired Hybrid collection, a category that reworks familiar blueprints with different materials underneath rather than copying them directly. It lands in the citrus-aromatic-woody lane, with a stacked wood-and-resin floor that gives it more weight in the base than a typical bright citrus-aromatic. The composition is built for everyday wear, with enough warmth in the drydown to carry it through transitional weather and long days.
