The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Dua's Touch for Her arrived as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection, a line that takes familiar compositions and rebuilds them with care. The brand spotted something worth reviving in Burberry Touch for Women, a release that walked a delicate line between fruity flirtation and oriental depth, berry and cassia playing against pepper in the opening while almond and vanilla settled into the drydown. Over the years, reformulation had weakened the formula, and the balance that once defined it had thinned. Dua's Touch for Her sets out to restore the youthful confidence of the original, when white florals, berries, and warm spice could share the same glass without anyone flinching.
What makes this composition interesting is the density of its fruit and floral architecture, a full berry cocktail layered with white florals that most modern flankers would thin out. Blackcurrant, blackberry, raspberry, cranberry, and peach all appear, supported by rose oil, jasmine, tuberose, lily of the valley, and peony. The brand layered them with tonka bean, vanilla, green almond, and oakmoss to anchor the sweetness, plus cassia for warmth that keeps the sweetness from tipping into candy territory.
The evolution
On skin, Dua's Touch for Her opens with a bright rush of orange and blackcurrant, the citrus lifting the berries before cassia and chili thread warmth underneath. The first few minutes feel almost effervescent, like fruit dropped into warm wine. The heart settles into a fuller floral arrangement, lily of the valley and jasmine joining raspberry and peach in something that reads more floral than the opening suggested. Rose oil and peony smooth the transitions, and oakmoss adds a green shadow at the edges that keeps the sweetness honest. As the hours pass, the white florals recede and vanilla takes the wheel, tonka bean and green almond softening what remains. The pepper and cassia linger in the background like a memory of the first conversation. Later on, what survives is the vanilla and the almond, the berries long gone, a quiet skin scent that earns its place.
Cultural impact
Dua's Touch for Her sits within the inspired-expression space, a category where contemporary houses revisit well-known compositions and rebuild them with modern materials and higher concentrations. It draws directly from Burberry Touch for Women, the original that inspired it, and reads as a deliberate attempt to recover the full-bodied character that made the original stand out. The blend of dark berries, white florals, warm spice, and a creamy almond-vanilla base captures a specific fruity-floral sensibility, one where sweetness never had to apologize for itself and florals could share a bottle with jam and pepper without losing coherence.
