The beginning
Boomski Pour Femme joined The Dua Brand's catalog in 2022, part of the Inspired Expression collection. This one draws its blueprint from Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Amyris Femme, a composition that earned a reputation for pairing bright citrus with creamy iris in a way that feels both modern and timeless. The Dua Brand's approach is direct: take that blueprint, respect the structure, and rebuild it using ingredients that fit the formulation. Boomski Pour Femme is vegan and formulated as an Extrait de Parfum, which means a higher concentration of fragrance oils than typical eau de parfum offerings.
Amyris is typically treated as a base note, a woody balm often compared to sandalwood but lighter. Placing it at the opening alongside lemon and pear gives the fragrance a creamy backbone from the very first minute, rather than waiting hours for the drydown to deliver depth. The iris reinforces that creaminess with its powdery, rooty character, while sweet pea adds a delicate floral lift reminiscent of orange blossom and hyacinth.
The evolution
The first 15 minutes are all about the pear and lemon, juicy and effervescent, the kind of opening that makes you lean in. Amyris is already working underneath, lending a quiet warmth that prevents the citrus from reading as sharp or synthetic. By the 30-minute mark, sweet pea and iris take over, the composition turns powdery and almost suede-like, like running fingers across a velvet curtain. The lemon blossom holds the brightness thread through this phase, a persistent citric thread that keeps the florals from going heavy. After 2-3 hours, the iris deepens into a rooty, slightly earthy territory, while the amyris rises to meet it, creating a creamy woody base that feels closer to skin. The drydown, around hours 5-8, settles into a quiet blend of iris powder and soft amyris wood, close to the body, intimate, the kind of scent that announces itself only to someone already near. On fabric, traces linger into the next day, a faint floral-woody whisper that survives a wash cycle or two.
