The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Glazed Lychee emerged as part of Siyate's 2025 debut collection, a six-scent lineup that marked the Dubai house's first major release. The brand, founded in 2023, sought a quiet statement that blended the unexpected translucence of lychee with familiar fruit tones, reflecting its philosophy of art-driven everyday expression. Blackcurrant was chosen specifically for its ability to lend tart sophistication alongside the more commonly used tropical notes, creating an opening that felt both fresh and grounded from the first spray.
The decision to position jasmine at the heart alongside raspberry blossom and wild berries was deliberate, adding a floral dimension that elevates the composition beyond simple fruit salad territory. The drydown trio of musk, sugar, and vanilla was chosen to provide warmth and longevity without overwhelming the delicate lychee character that inspired the name. Tog ether, these notes create a fragrance that moves through clear phases, each one distinct yet connected to the whole.
The evolution
The scent begins with an immediate burst of bright fruit, blackcurrant and lychee creating an effervescent quality that feels both tart and sweet simultaneously. Red apple grounds this opening with its familiar crunch, preventing the composition from floating into abstraction. As the minutes pass, the heart reveals itself through jasmine's cool floral clarity, which tempers the initial sweetness and adds an unexpected elegance. Raspberry blossom and wild berries keep the fruity character alive while introducing complexity and depth. The final chapter belongs to musk, sugar, and vanilla, a trio that transforms the initial brightness into something warm, Intimate, and lasting.
Cultural impact
Since its 2025 debut, Glazed Lychee has resonated with a generation that values light, approachable scents over heavy traditional compositions. Its bright fruit‑floral profile aligns with the growing popularity of Asian-inspired notes in Western markets, encouraging other houses to explore lychee and red apple pairings. The fragrance has been featured in seasonal runway shows and social media trends, reinforcing a cultural shift toward youthful, gender‑fluid perfumery that celebrates simplicity and joy without overwhelming intensity.
