Demimondaine launched in 2022 from Siren Song Elixirs. The fragrance is part of the Dangerous Women collection, a series built around reclaiming words once used to shame women for their sexuality. The name itself comes from the demimonde, a term for women who lived hedonistic, conspicuous lives outside polite society, courtesans, mistresses, the kinds of women history remembered whether or not it approved. The brand's official copy leads with a line borrowed from Laurel Thatcher Ulrich: "Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History." The composition leans into appetite, a gourmand built not for subtlety but for the pleasure of sweetness that doesn't apologize for itself.
