Parfum Atelier dropped Oud Milkshake in 2025 as part of a small, limited run, and the name tells you everything about the gamble. Take oud, a material with deep roots in Middle Eastern perfumery, and pair it with milk chocolate and hazelnut. The house built this for the person who wants oud's character without crossing into pure sweetness, the texture of something indulgent that still holds its composure. The combination reads as an act of play, a gesture toward the gourmand category that doesn't fully commit to it. There's something quietly confident about a composition that lets cocoa and hazelnut lead while oud works underneath, reshaping what you'd expect from either material alone.
What makes this composition structurally interesting is the way milk sits at the base instead of a typical gourmand's vanilla. Milk is a different beast, and it gives the whole thing a creamy backbone that reads as skin-warm rather than bakery-sweet.
