The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Beach Fun arrived in 2009 under Fabienne Coupaye's hand. The Visions line at Oriflame had been exploring contrasting moods, Lady Vintage, Casual Cutie, Joy Ride, but Beach Fun wasn't interested in contrast. It wanted to smell like the escape itself. The name wasn't a metaphor. Mango, pineapple, caramel. Sandalwood warmth. A day at the beach, bottled without apology.
The real move here is the mango-raspberry pairing. Mango brings body, thick, almost lactonic sweetness, while raspberry keeps it from becoming syrup. Pineapple adds the tropical jolt, the kind of acidity that cuts through sweetness and makes the fruit feel fresh rather than candied. Fabienne Coupaye layered jasmine beneath the florals, which gives the sweetness somewhere to rest instead of just floating. The caramel arrives early, weaving through the florals rather than waiting for the drydown, a choice that makes the entire composition feel warm from the first spray.
The evolution
Mango and pineapple hit the skin bright and tart, the raspberry adding a quick flash of red acidity before the florals arrive. The jasmine, rose, and violet arrive around the five-minute mark, softening the fruit into something rounder, warmer, not delicate, but sun-warmed petals. The caramel doesn't wait. It starts mingling with the florals within twenty minutes, sweet and present. By the thirty-minute mark, the tropical opening has settled and the sandalwood and musk arrive to anchor everything. The drydown is warm skin, caramel, and a whisper of tropical sweetness that lingers close. Lasts four to six hours on most skin types, with moderate sillage that doesn't announce itself across the room but stays with whoever gets close.
Cultural impact
Visions V Beach Fun stood apart in Oriflame's Visions line, tropical gourmand where others leaned floral or woody. The mango and caramel pairing made it a standout for those who wanted sweetness without apology, finding its audience among fans of everyday summer scents and positioning itself as a gateway into the Visions collection.
