The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The Replica collection doesn't name fragrances with ingredient lists. It names moments. Never Ending Summer is the concept of an Italian afternoon that refuses to end, the kind where the light stays golden long after it should have faded, where you're still on a terrace somewhere on the Amalfi Coast, drink in hand, with nowhere to be. Christophe Raynaud built this around the house's signature Italian Spritz accord, a bitter-fresh citrus structure that captures the bittersweet character of an Aperol Spritz at golden hour. Bitter orange and Aperol form the core, that specific combination of bright, effervescent, and just slightly herbal that makes the drink unmistakably Italian. Black pepper adds a quiet warmth from the start, preventing the citrus from reading as simple or straightforward. The name says it all. This isn't summer remembered, it's summer while it's still happening.
What makes Never Ending Summer interesting is how the Italian Spritz accord holds the composition together without drowning it in citrus. Bitter orange brings that sharp, almost bracing quality, the kind you get from the peel, not the juice. Aperol adds the herbal, slightly bitter depth that distinguishes it from a simple orange water. It's a combination that reads as aperitivo before it reads as fruit. Cardamom and Earl Grey tea arrive in the heart and transform the energy.
The evolution
The opening arrives fast, bitter orange and Aperol hit together in one bright, effervescent wave. The citrus is sharp, almost bracing, with a subtle herbal undertone from the Aperol that prevents it from reading as just fruit. Black pepper adds a warm, faintly smoky element that keeps the opening from being purely fresh, lending an unexpected depth that lingers beneath the surface. The citrus doesn't simply recede, it shifts and transforms as the composition develops. Cardamom and Earl Grey tea arrive and soften the edges, creating an aromatic, slightly spiced heart that feels dry and warm rather than bright. The Aperol's herbal quality becomes more pronounced, almost tea-like itself, as the pepper continues to linger underneath, adding continuity to the evolving scent.
Cultural impact
Never Ending Summer continues the Replica tradition by bottle-izing the ephemeral quality of an Italian summer aperitivo. The fragrance captures the bittersweet effervescence of an Aperol Spritz in wearable form, translating the distinct character of that citrus-forward herbal aperitif into a scent experience. Bitter orange provides the sharp, bracing quality reminiscent of the drink's citrus peel notes, while Aperol's herbal, slightly bitter depth distinguishes it from a simple orange water.
