The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Maison Asrar, a Dubai house rooted in Arabic perfume heritage, unveiled Vision as part of its 2025 Future Collection. The brief was simple: capture the scent of a blueprint, a city's clean lines before construction begins. Where other houses might default to heavy amber or oud, Maison Asrar chose an unexpected path, building Vision around a green-lemon and white-tea structure that feels architectural in its own right, each note placed like a line on drafting paper with intention and restraint.
Maison Asrar's note selection reflects a specific philosophy: clarity as luxury, restraint as ambition. Green lemon and orange open Vision with the kind of crispness usually found in architects' models or urban planning documents, clean and precise. White tea was chosen for the heart precisely because it feels meditative, a quiet pause before the final statement. The drydown then deploys ambergris and moss to ground the scent in something earthy and real, a reminder that ambition still connects to the physical world. Bergamot might have been easier, but the house wanted green lemon specifically for its brightness without sweetness.
The evolution
The opening strikes first with green lemon, orange, and blackcurrant, a citrus trio designed to feel clean and functional rather than ostentatious. Within the first hour, white tea softens the brightness, turning the fragrance from sharp to serene. Basil then adds garden-fresh green sophistication to the heart stage, with coriander providing a subtle spiced counterpoint that prevents the heart from becoming wispy. The drydown takes the composition into quieter territory: ambergris adds an aquatic note that feels strangely modern, moss grounds everything with earthy dampness, and musk leaves a warm, Intimate trace on skin that lingers long after the top and heart notes have faded. The progression mirrors an architectural process, from foundation to structure to finish, each layer visible in sequence.
Cultural impact
Vision emerged at a time when minimalist aesthetics were reshaping urban lifestyles, reflecting a cultural shift toward clarity and purpose. Its green lemon and orange top notes echo the growing demand for fresh, energizing experiences in fast‑moving cities, while the blackcurrant adds a subtle depth that resonates with a generation seeking authenticity. The scent’s balanced composition mirrors contemporary values of sustainability and transparency, positioning it as more than a fragrance, a quiet statement of modern identity that aligns with the era’s emphasis on mindful consumption and personal expression.
