The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The 2025 Wicked: For Good collaboration gave Lush a chance to bottle a feeling rather than a fantasy. Glinda, the.good witch, the optimist who still believes the world can be kind. Alina Gliwinska, one of Lush's in-house perfumers, took that energy and turned it into something you can actually wear. The result is powdery, soft, and just nostalgic enough to feel like a favorite you forgot you had.
What makes this composition interesting is the way it handles violet. Violet leaf absolute gives the opening its green, ozonic lift, but as it settles, the orris root and vanilla push forward, creating that signature parma violet effect. It's the same powdery sweetness you'd find in an old-fashioned sweet shop, but done with enough care that it doesn't tip into air freshener. The rose oil threads through quietly, never loud, just there to remind you that softness can still mean something.
The evolution
The opening is bright and ozonic, with violet leaf absolute lending a fresh green facet. Thirty minutes in, the composition shifts. The vanilla arrives quietly, settling beside the orris to create a powdery, slightly sweet warmth. That's the parma violet moment everyone talks about. As it moves into the drydown, the rose oil and almond take over, soft and skin-close, the kind of scent that lingers without announcing itself. Moderate sillage throughout. On most skin types, expect 6-8 hours before it fades to a quiet whisper.
Cultural impact
The 2025 release taps into a moment of cultural nostalgia, riding the wave of renewed interest in Wicked while standing on its own as a Lush fragrance. It's the kind of scent that divides opinion in the best way, some find it too sharp, others find it perfect, which is exactly where interesting fragrance conversations begin.
