Why it exists.
The beginning
Procession is part of Logoi Perfumes' debut lineup, launched in 2026 by Weston Adam. The house, also founded in 2026, named its opening releases after conceptual states rather than scent profiles: Form, Multiplicity, Clearing, Beginning, Ground, Return, and Presence sit alongside Procession as part of an olfactive reduction experiment that resists the usual descriptive naming conventions of perfumery. Adam composed it as an extrait de parfum, the densest concentration format, built around a resinous-woody architecture accented by citrus, florals, herbs, and moss. The structure holds an unusually broad range of materials working in tandem, each contributing to a layered whole rather than standing alone.
What sets Procession apart is the unusual breadth of its heart notes, a wide roster of materials compressed into one formula at extrait strength. Adam layered resins like Omani green frankincense and labdanum absolute alongside natural materials including amyris, deer musk, orris butter, and rose absolute. Citrus brightens the perimeter with bergamot, grapefruit, lime, and cypress leaf, while coumarin and vanilla absolute anchor the base with a warm, smooth undertone.
The evolution
The opening hits bright and green before the resins even register. Bergamot, grapefruit, and lime spike the first stretch of wear, lifted by rosemary and chamomile that give the whole thing a cool, almost bitter clarity. Cypress leaf sharpens the edges with its fresh, sappy character. The procession starts moving fast, all citrus and green aromatics layered tight against the skin. As the citrus recedes, the heart takes over. This is where the composition earns its density: rose absolute softens the air while amyris and guaiac wood introduce a smoky warmth. Deer musk and orris butter add a skin-like, almost intimate undertone, and labdanum absolute begins laying down the resinous floor that will carry the rest of the wear. The transition is subtle but unmistakable, a slow shift from green brightness to warm, grounded depth. After extended wear, you're in a different fragrance.
