Why it exists.

Kayali set out to celebrate the most coveted gourmand note, Madagascar vanilla, by building a scent around its pure orchid form. Perfumer Gabriela Chelariu imagined a fragrance that captures the scent of a freshly opened vanilla pod, brightened by jasmine's floral lift. The result, Vanilla | 28, was designed to feel like an invitation into a world where vanilla is treated as the star it truly is, not merely a supporting actor in a larger composition.
The decision to anchor the fragrance in Vanilla Orchid rather than generic vanilla reflects a commitment to capturing the note at its most expressive and aromatic. Jasmine was chosen not to compete with the vanilla but to lift it, creating a brighter opening that prevents the fragrance from feeling flat from the first spray. The drydown's inclusion of amberwood, musk, and patchouli ensures the vanilla journey doesn't end as a one-note affair, adding the complexity and longevity that make this a fragrance worth wearing and revisiting.
