The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Almost Single emerged from the same community-first process that defines every Confessions of a Rebel launch. Members voted on the concept, that charged, liminal space between singledom and commitment, where everything could tip either way. The name itself became the creative brief: a fragrance that captures the tension of almost choosing, almost falling, almost being someone's. Nothing too definite. Nothing too safe. The community wanted warmth with restraint, sweetness that wouldn't cloy, and a powdery iris presence that felt intimate rather than heavy. What arrived was exactly that, a scent that holds its cards close.
The note structure rewards attention. Iris sits at the center, powdery and grounding, its violet-soft presence threading through the composition. Black pepper and cardamom do not announce themselves either. They warm the composition from within, creating the sensation of heat without fire. Sandalwood anchors everything in cream, its woody richness adding depth without weight. The spices blend seamlessly into the base, never dominating but providing an undercurrent of warmth. The drydown stays close to the skin, intimate and soft.
The evolution
The opening hits like sea air meeting warm skin, salt-sweet, almost aquatic, immediately disarming. Rosemary and clary sage soften the sweetness, adding an herbal green that keeps things grounded. The iris does not rush. It surfaces gradually, powdery and violet-adjacent, taking over the middle act while the spices warm underneath. Sandalwood settles in, creamy and woody, lending its characteristic richness to the base. On fabric, it lingers into the next day, faint and intimate, like a memory rather than a statement.
Cultural impact
Almost Single fits squarely within the brand's philosophy of relatable, conversational fragrance, scents named for real emotional states rather than abstract concepts. The sweet-aquatic character appeals to wearers who want warmth without heaviness, and the powdery iris note adds a soft, floral dimension that balances the composition. It wears well in transitional seasons and close quarters, making it a practical choice for everyday intimacy rather than grand gestures.
