    Collistar

Collistar is an Italian beauty and fragrance house that grew out of a professional cosmetics laboratory in Milan. Since its launch in 1983 the brand has built a portfolio that includes skincare, makeup and a line of niche‑inspired perfumes. Today Collistar operates in more than 45 markets and sits within the Bolton Group, a multinational consumer‑goods company. Its fragrance collection, introduced in the early 1990s, blends contemporary Italian style with ingredients sourced from the Mediterranean, offering a modern take on classic scent families.

A house, in its own words

The story of Collistar begins in 1983 when a group of Milanese chemists opened a small laboratory dedicated to professional salon products. Their early focus was on high‑performance formulas for hair and skin, which quickly earned the trust of local stylists. By the late 1980s the company expanded its distribution to retail pharmacies, positioning itself as a bridge between professional and consumer beauty. In 1992 Collistar released its first perfume, a fresh citrus composition that marked the brand’s entry into olfactory design. The early 2000s saw rapid geographic growth; by 2005 the label was present in more than 30 countries across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. That same year Bolton Group, a diversified consumer‑goods conglomerate, acquired a controlling stake in Collistar, providing capital and logistical support that accelerated international rollout. The partnership also enabled investment in research and development, leading to the 2014 launch of the Benessere line, a series of fragrances that emphasize natural extracts such as neroli, amber and sandalwood. In 2018 Collistar introduced La Vaniglia, a gourmand scent that highlighted the brand’s willingness to explore sweet, gourmand trends while maintaining an Italian sensibility. The most recent milestone arrived in 2024 with Benessere Neroli e Elicriso, a perfume that pairs Amalfi‑coast neroli with the green, aromatic note of elemi, underscoring Collistar’s continued commitment to regional botanicals. Throughout its four‑decade history the company has balanced salon‑origin expertise with a consumer‑friendly image, positioning itself as a reliable source of both beauty care and fragrance experiences. Collistar’s creative outlook rests on three guiding ideas. First, the brand treats skin and scent as complementary expressions of personal well‑being, meaning that a fragrance should feel as nurturing as a moisturizer. Second, it values transparency; ingredient lists are published in clear language and the company strives to disclose the origin of key raw materials. Third, Collistar embraces a distinctly Italian perspective, drawing inspiration from the country’s landscapes, cuisine and artisanal traditions. This translates into scent stories that reference Mediterranean citrus groves, Tuscan woods or the aromatic herbs of the Ligurian coast. The brand also prioritises sustainability, setting goals to reduce carbon emissions in its supply chain and to increase the share of recycled packaging. By aligning performance, authenticity and environmental responsibility, Collistar aims to create products that support everyday confidence without compromising on ethical standards.
