The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Enchanted arrived in 2025 as part of Bharara's Collection E, where the fragrance presents a vivid study in contrasting textures. Citrus and tropical fruits establish a bright, juicy impression, full of the energy of ripe fruit and clean, sparkling facets. Their sweetness is balanced by spice, which adds a warmer, more animated dimension without taking over. As the composition develops, amber brings a rounded warmth, musk gives the blend a soft, intimate character, and woody notes create a firmer structure beneath the fruit. Turpentine adds a resinous, solvent-like edge, interrupting the smoother elements and giving the fragrance an unusual point of tension.
The defining detail of Enchanted is its use of turpentine. Its resinous, slightly solvent-like character brings a sharp counterpoint to the tropical fruit and sweet notes, creating a composition with more edge than its brighter opening initially suggests. Amber contributes a warm, polished presence, while musk adds a soft, diffusing quality that helps the fragrance feel less purely fruit-led. Woody notes extend the structure with a drier, more textured base.
The evolution
Enchanted opens with a bright blend of citrus and tropical fruits. The fruit gives the first impression a juicy, colorful quality, while the citrus adds a clean sparkling lift. There's an immediate sense of freshness, but the sweetness of the fruit keeps it from feeling purely sharp or restrained. The tropical character supplies much of the composition's early richness, creating a vivid contrast with the lighter citrus facets. As the scent develops, sweet notes become more prominent, adding roundness and helping the fruit retain its full-bodied appeal. Spice enters the discussion with a gentle warmth, giving the blend a little more momentum and preventing the sweetness from becoming too uniform. Amber and musk then add softer, warmer layers beneath the fruit, while woody notes bring a drier, more structured finish.
Cultural impact
Enchanted stands apart through its combination of tropical fruits, citrus, sweet notes, spice, amber, musk, turpentine, and woods. The tropical-fruit character gives it a lively, juicy presence, while amber and musk add warmth and softness. Woody notes provide a more solid foundation, and turpentine contributes a resinous, slightly solvent-like edge that makes the composition less predictable. The effect is a fragrance that can be read through its contrasts: bright fruit against darker, drier elements, sweetness against spice, and warmth against a more rugged aromatic quality.
