Stefan Kehl
Stefan Kehl grew up in the Black Forest region of Germany, moving to Berlin in 1998 after completing his apprenticeship as a hairstylist. His entry into the beauty industry dates to 1995, when he began building an international career as a hair and make-up artist. This formative period gave him an unusually broad perspective on aesthetics and personal presentation. Eventually, he crossed into fragrance creation, forming one half of the Berlin-based fragrance house AER Scents. He also founded LYK/SKIN, a skincare venture rooted in biometric principles. Today, Kehl consults on scent formulations and molecule testing, bringing the precision of a beauty professional to the subtleties of fragrance. He does not fit the mold of a classically trained perfumer, which makes his work all the more distinctive in contemporary scent culture.

How Stefan composes
Kehle brings an artist's sensibility to fragrance construction. His twelve perfumes demonstrate consistency in their focus on natural materials, avoiding synthetic shortcuts in favor of ingredients with genuine character and depth. His beauty background gives him an acute awareness of how products perform on skin, which informs his approach to sillage and longevity. He favors clarity over complexity, allowing individual natural materials to speak rather than layering them into abstraction. The result is fragrances that feel clean, direct, and honest in their composition.
Philosophy
What drives Stefan
Kehle's philosophy centers on restraint and intentionality. Rather than chasing trends, he focuses on what scent can genuinely communicate. His commitment to 100% natural formulations shapes every creative decision, limiting his palette but deepening his relationship with each material. Coming from beauty rather than perfumery school, he thinks about fragrance as part of a larger sensory experience: how it interacts with skin, how it complements a person's style, how it ages throughout the day. He treats each fragrance as a considered statement rather than a commercial product.
