Character
The Story of Lemon honey
Lemon honey is a warm, golden accord that captures the bright citrus sparkle of fresh lemon woven into the sweet, syrupy depth of golden honey. Perfumers build this note from beeswax absolute and citrus aromatics to evoke the feeling of sunlight through amber.
Heritage
The pairing of lemon and honey traces back to the apiaries and citrus groves of the Mediterranean, where perfumers in 12th-century Arabia had already begun experimenting with aromatic combinations using newly developed distillation techniques. Honey itself had been a sacred material in Egyptian perfume workshops, often combined with citrus oils in fatty bases. As citrus cultivation expanded through the Mediterranean during the Renaissance, lemon became more accessible to perfumers, and the natural pairing of sharp citrus with sweet honey emerged organically from traditional preparations. However, it was not until the modern era that perfumers could reliably recreate this accord in a concentrated form that lasted on skin. Today's lemon honey creations are a direct descendant of those ancient combinations, now built with greater precision and consistency through both natural extracts and synthetic aromatics.
