The Story
Why it exists.
Vetiver Pour Homme emerged in 2012 from Roja Dove’s desire to honour the oil of the exotic grass that has long defined masculine perfumery. Inspired by the fleeting imprint of a lover’s scent on skin, Dove set out to craft a parfum that balances earthy, leathery and smoky tones with bright citrus, creating a scent that feels both intimate and unmistakably masculine.

The Beginning
Vetiver Pour Homme emerged in 2012 from Roja Dove’s desire to honour the oil of the exotic grass that has long defined masculine perfumery. Inspired by the fleeting imprint of a lover’s scent on skin, Dove set out to craft a parfum that balances earthy, leathery and smoky tones with bright citrus, creating a scent that feels both intimate and unmistakably masculine.
The composition’s backbone is a rare blend of green accords, galbanum and celery seed, that give the opening a crisp, almost herbal edge uncommon in traditional vetiver scents. Adding pink pepper and caraway injects a subtle heat, while the heart’s labdanum and rose provide a warm, resinous cushion that lets the smoky vetiver emerge with authority, making the drydown feel both grounded and unexpectedly vibrant.
The Evolution
At the first spray, lemon and bergamot flash bright, cut by litsea cubeba’s sharp green zest, while pink pepper and galbanum add a crisp, almost metallic edge. Within ten minutes the citrus recedes, yielding to a heart of cistus, Grasse jasmine and May rose, softened by labdanum’s ambergris‑like warmth. As the perfume settles, the green peppery spice of pink pepper and caraway lingers, intertwining with the smoky, earthy core of vetiver, oakmoss and cedar. The base’s guaiac wood and amyris lend a dry, resinous finish, while nutmeg and a whisper of celery seed keep the drydown lively. On skin, the composition persists for eight to ten hours, the vetiver remaining prominent yet mellowed by the surrounding woods, leaving a lingering, sophisticated trail that feels both grounded and subtly adventurous.
Cultural Impact
Since its 2012 debut, Vetiver Pour Homme has become a reference point for modern vetiver parfums, praised for marrying classic green‑spicy vigor with a refined, smoky drydown. Enthusiasts often cite it alongside Grey Vetiver and Vetiver Extreme as a benchmark of British haute perfumery, noting its strong sillage and lasting presence in both formal and casual settings.
