Josephine Catapano created Youth Dew in 1953, the same year Estée Lauder introduced it as a scented bath oil before it became the perfume we know today. By that point, Estée Lauder had already built a cosmetics empire on the premise that every woman deserved to feel extraordinary. Youth Dew wasn't designed to please everyone. It was designed to be unforgettable. The timing was deliberate. Post-war glamour was shifting, and this fragrance captured something both luxurious and rebellious about that era's spirit.
