The beginning
The Soul2Soul collection arrived in 2012, inspired by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's own love story. Two artists, decades of music, one fragrance collaboration that asked a simple question: what does a real American partnership smell like? Coty developed the line with McGraw's direct creative input, his second fragrance line after McGraw and Southern Blend, leaning into country music's heritage of honest storytelling without pretense. This one was hers and his, together.
The immortelle is the quietest surprise. Not immortelle as afterthought, but as connective tissue, its honeyed, herbal quality tying the cognac opening to the vetiver close in a way that feels deliberate rather than accidental. Then there's the saffron-oak heart, which avoids the typical masculine checklist entirely. No tobacco. No leather. No token amber. Just two materials doing real work: saffron bringing its quiet bitterness, oak bringing its structural weight. The Brazilian rosewood in the base is similarly specific, dry warmth, not sweet warmth, the kind of wood that makes a foundation worth trusting.
The evolution
The first 30 minutes announce themselves clearly. Cognac, blackberry brandy, bergamot zest cutting through the sweetness like ice in a glass. This is the entrance, confident, a little showy, entirely intentional. By hour two, the saffron takes over. The cognac recedes. The oak and immortelle move in and make it something quieter, more complex, worth paying attention to. The drydown settles around vetiver and rosewood, woody without sweetness, warm without heaviness. Lasts into the evening on most skin types, projecting moderately throughout. What remains at the end of the day is close, personal, earned.
