The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Toast To Sparkles, released in 2025, takes The Dua Brand's brief and runs straight toward the fun side of the catalog. Inspired by the joyful, effervescent character of Bath & Body Works' Champagne Toast, perfumer Mahsam Raza set out to translate that bubbly energy into something with more depth and staying power. The result is a Floral Fruity Gourmand composition built on three pillars: champagne, berries, and tangerine. No pretense. No ambiguity. Just sparkle, amplified. The opening arrives like the moment a cork leaves a chilled bottle. Aldehydic brightness lifts the whole composition upward, and the tangerine cuts through with a clean citrus snap, the kind that hits your nose before the glass even reaches your lips.
The interesting move here is restraint. Where most fruity-gourmands drown themselves in vanilla, marshmallow, and spun sugar, Toast To Sparkles holds the sweetness at arm's length. Champagne accord carries the aldehydic lift that reads as actual carbonation rather than just fruity sweetness. Berries ground it with a juicy, slightly tart edge. Tangerine provides the citrus snap that keeps the whole thing from collapsing into syrup. It's a deceptively simple pyramid doing the work of a much busier composition.
The evolution
The first moments on skin feel like the instant a cork leaves a chilled bottle. Aldehydic fizz lifts everything upward, sharp and celebratory, the tangerine cutting through like citrus peel hitting your nose before the glass even reaches your lips. There's a carbonated quality to the opening that feels almost tactile, the way fine bubbles tickle the inside of your nose rather than just landing on your tongue. Within the first stretch of wear the berries arrive fully, rounding out the edges and softening the aldehydes into something warmer and sweeter. The mixed berry accord reads more like a bowl of fresh fruit than a jam, juicy rather than candied, and it tempers the sharp opening without flattening it. The champagne accord doesn't vanish. It settles into the background, still present but quieter, the way sparkling wine tastes different in the last sip than the first.
Cultural impact
Toast To Sparkles sits within The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line, part of the broader Dua Designer Line collection. For wearers drawn to bubbly, celebratory scents, it occupies a comfortable middle ground. It has the playful sweetness of a body mist but the projection and development of a more serious composition. There's no leather here, no smoky oud, no brooding base trying to convince you it's unisex. It's unapologetically fun, and it wears that identity without hedging. The champagne accord carries the whole thing forward, and the berries and tangerine play supporting roles without ever pulling focus.
