The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Sparkling Sava arrived in 2024 from The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line. Mahsam Raza composed it as a unisex citrus-leaning gourmand, pulling berries, bitter orange, and praline into the same orbit as cinnamon and orris. The Inspired Expression line gathers a rotating cast of perfumed creations, each one staking its own claim on a particular mood or composition family, and Sparkling Sava lands squarely in the warm, edible corner of that spectrum. Mahsam Raza builds the juice with an instinct for how gourmand materials behave together, coaxing the berries and bitter orange into a bright, almost sparkling top while letting the praline, cinnamon, and orris do the heavier lifting underneath.
What separates Sparkling Sava from the usual berry-spice crowd is the orris. That root brings a powdery, almost cosmetic coolness that keeps the praline from tipping into pure dessert territory. Add bitter orange to the citrus opening and the berries land sharp rather than syrupy. Bourbon vanilla and amber in the foundation layer the warmth thick, while sandalwood gives it a creamy woodiness that wears close without going flat. It is a gourmand that remembers to act like a fragrance, not a candle.
The evolution
Sparkling Sava opens with a bright rush of bitter orange and red berries, the citrus sparkling against the fruit in a way that feels fizzy rather than syrupy. Within minutes, praline and orris root soften the edges, adding a creamy, almond-leaning sweetness that grounds the fruit before it can drift into jam territory. The orris brings a powdery coolness that keeps the sweetness honest, while the praline layers in a nutty, almost caramelized richness. As the hours pass, vanilla and sandalwood settle into the skin, and the amber base takes over, leaving behind a low, resinous warmth that lingers close rather than announces itself. The vanilla rounds off any sharp edges left by the spice, and the sandalwood lends a creamy woodiness that keeps the amber from feeling heavy or flat.
Cultural impact
Sparkling Sava sits in a warm, edible corner of the gourmand family, the kind of composition that wraps berries, spice, and amber into a single cozy package. It appeals to wearers who want the sweetness of praline and the snap of bitter orange in the same spray, without sacrificing the soft, woody depth that orris and sandalwood bring to the base. The orris in particular keeps it from reading as pure sugar, lending a powdery, rooty undertow that gives the composition more range than a straight-up dessert scent.
