The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Seductive Elixir launched in 2024 as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line. Perfumer Mahsam Raza composed it around three notes that shouldn't work together but do: apple, whipped cream, and bergamot. The structure borrows from classic fruity gourmand territory, with bergamot listed as a base note rather than an opening. That placement puts citrus in unusual company, threading it underneath the cream and apple instead of letting it sparkle and fade at the top. The result is a composition where the three notes share space across the wear rather than taking turns. It's a small rearrangement that changes how the whole thing reads on skin, keeping the crispness alive while the sweeter elements settle in around it.
What stands out about Seductive Elixir is how the notes are distributed across the pyramid. The bergamot sits in the base rather than the opening, which means the citrus character has a different role to play than it usually would. The apple carries the bright, almost nostalgic fruit impression, the kind of clean sweetness that recalls biting into a fresh slice rather than tasting candy. The whipped cream brings warmth and body, a soft lactonic roundness that gives the composition something to lean against. And the bergamot, anchored low, prevents the cream from taking over completely.
The evolution
The opening reads like cold fruit, just-sliced, with a snap of green skin and a clean sweetness that feels closer to the apple itself than to any confection. There's already a faint dairy softness underneath, a suggestion of what's coming, but it stays in the background at first. Then the whipped cream rises, not heavy or cloying, but the airy sweetness of softly beaten cream folded gently into fruit, and the composition shifts from something crisp and snack-like into something warmer and more rounded. The cream settles in and stays, giving the fragrance a soft body that lingers on the skin. As the wear continues, the bergamot reveals itself from the base, a clean, slightly bitter peel character that surfaces alongside the cream rather than vanishing early.
Cultural impact
The combination of apple, whipped cream, and bergamot with citrus anchored in the base gives Seductive Elixir a distinctive profile within the fruity gourmand space. Wearers who expect a straightforward sugar-and-cream composition get something that holds onto its crisp character throughout the wear. The bergamot placement means the citrus stays present alongside the sweeter elements rather than disappearing early, and the result is a fragrance that balances bright, warm, and bitter notes in equal measure across its evolution on skin.
