Why it exists.
The beginning
Aromatic Queen's Parfum arrived in 2025 from The Dua Brand, a house known for Mahsam Raza's compositions. Raza composed this one as a tribute to Q by Dolce & Gabbana, distilling the spirit of that magnetic original into a focused three-note architecture: candied cherry, jasmine, vanilla. There's something refreshing about a composition that trusts its materials so completely. Each note is given room to breathe, and the result reads as a deliberate study in restraint rather than a stripped-down impression of the source. The candied cherry opens with a dense, syrupy sweetness that clings to the fabric of the fragrance like fruit preserves left to steep in their own juice.
Mahsam Raza went with a focused direction, trusting candied cherry to carry the opening alone, jasmine to hold the middle without support, and vanilla to anchor everything in the base. The accords confirm what the pyramid suggests: white floral, vanilla, cherry, sweet, powdery, nutty. On skin, that powdery quality reads as a soft, almost talc-like haze that settles over the sweeter elements, lending the composition a velvety texture that feels both nostalgic and immediate.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes are almost startling. Cherry arrives wine-dark, sticky-sweet, the kind of candied fruit that coats the back of your tongue. Jasmine doesn't wait politely. It surfaces within twenty minutes, bringing a creamy indolic warmth that softens the fruit into something floral and almost edible. By the two-hour mark the cherry has receded and the jasmine-vanilla dialogue takes over, powdery and lactonic, reading more like skin than perfume. The vanilla deepens through hours three and four, going richer, almost honeyed, while jasmine lingers as a soft floral hum underneath. Projection stays moderate, sitting within arm's reach, and the drydown on fabric the next morning reads as warm vanilla with a ghost of cherry preserves.
