The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The name says it before you smell it. The Rain Inside, not rain falling on you, but rain contained. Captured. The question the nose seemed to ask: what if the petrichor moment lasted beyond the weather? What if you could carry that particular stillness, wet stone, damp air, the world gone quiet, on your skin, hours after the clouds cleared? The independent house has built its catalog on cultural imagery, mythology, artistic traditions. This fragrance takes its name from a feeling rather than a reference, something meditative rather than mythological. It fits the brand's quieter register, less dramatic than the incense-forward Boswellia or the theatrical Isis Temple, more intimate in its ambition.
The unusual note here is chrysanthemum. In Western perfumery it's rare, associated more with funerary arrangements and autumn gardens than fragrance pyramids. Here, Ekaterina Siordia places it at the center of the drydown, where it brings a dusty, herbal quality that transforms the expected white floral arc. The supporting florals (lily, rose, mimosa, marigold) are familiar enough. The chrysanthemum is not. It's what makes this fragrance argue with the typical aquatic template, this isn't rain as a concept, it's rain as a specific season. Cool. Herbaceous. Almost medicinal in its clarity.
The evolution
The opening arrives cool and crisp, ozonic water notes, the clean bite of neroli, a hint of orange blossom. Rain on stone, not rain on a tropical beach. Within the first hour, lily and rose emerge alongside the herbal sharpness of artemisia, creating a slightly bitter green quality that keeps the florals from feeling sweet. The heart is where the white florals fully unfold, mimosa and marigold join the chorus, adding a honeyed undertone without saccharine sweetness. Lily persists throughout, lending an aquatic undertone that reinforces the rain theme without ever crossing into synthetic territory. The drydown is contemplative rather than dramatic. The aquatic notes recede; the air accord lingers. Chrysanthemum takes center stage with its autumnal, slightly dusty character, nothing soft about it, nothing gentle.
Cultural impact
The Rain Inside arrived from Siordia Parfums, a house whose catalog draws on cultural imagery and mythological themes. The fragrance represented a quieter direction within that portfolio, less dramatic than the incense-forward Boswellia or the mythological Isis Temple. Its white floral and aquatic composition offers something contemplative, prioritizing mood and atmosphere over bold statement. The chrysanthemum drydown provides a distinctive finish, adding an autumnal, herbal character that sets this apart from more conventional aquatic interpretations.
