The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Oasis of Flowers arrived in 2024 as part of Parfois’s fragrance offering. Marie Huguenot composed the scent as a citrus floral: the brightness of citrus fruits meets the clean glow of orange blossom and the rounded sensuality of ylang-ylang. Its name suggests a floral refuge, bringing together lively fruit, luminous petals, and a warm tropical floral accent. Citrus gives the composition its opening clarity, while orange blossom softens the brighter fruit notes into a clean floral center. Ylang-ylang adds a deeper, creamier warmth, creating a rounded contrast to the crisp citrus and fresh blossom. Together, the notes form a balanced floral profile with brightness up front, softness through the middle, and a gentle warmth as it develops on the skin.
What makes the composition interesting is its balance of opposites. Citrus fruits bring lift and snap, while orange blossom and ylang-ylang soften the brightness into a white-floral heart. The result carries a clean, soapy impression without becoming sterile. Moss adds the one quiet earth note beneath the flowers, giving the sweetness a steadier landing. It’s a familiar floral language built for everyday discovery: bright, neat, and easy to wear.
The evolution
The opening brings citrus fruits forward with a clear, buoyant snap. That brightness then makes room for orange blossom and ylang-ylang, shifting toward a creamy white floral heart with a soft yellow warmth. Orange blossom gives the center a clean, luminous quality, while ylang-ylang rounds the arrangement with a fuller, more sensual floral texture. As the scent settles, moss leaves a quiet earthy trace beneath the flowers, keeping the composition grounded. The citrus gradually recedes, allowing the orange blossom to become more prominent, while ylang-ylang adds a soft creaminess that lingers close to the floral heart. The drydown is less sparkling and more polished, like sun-warmed linen with a cool stone edge. Moss introduces a subtle vegetal depth as the scent settles closer to the skin.
Cultural impact
Oasis of Flowers presents a floral fragrance shaped by contrast: lively citrus at the opening, clean orange blossom through the heart, and creamy warmth from ylang-ylang. Moss settles beneath the floral notes with a subtle earthy quality as the composition develops. Together, these elements create a balanced trail that begins fresh and bright, grows softer and more rounded, then becomes more grounded over time. The interplay of fruit, blossom, warm floral facets, and moss gives the scent a distinctive place within contemporary floral perfumery while inviting close attention to how each note changes on the skin.
