Memories arrived in 2022 from Otto Feelings, a house that treats each composition as an attempt to capture a specific feeling rather than follow a trend. Memories was a release in that line of work, a composition built around the question of what a single afternoon can leave behind on the skin. The fragrance opens with a bright burst of citrus and sea-air, that crisp bergamot cutting through the salt like sunlight on a wave, before settling into a base of cedar, jasmine, and patchouli that warms gradually over the hours. The whole thing feels designed to be worn rather than studied, a scent that treats memory as something you carry forward, not something you analyze.
What's unusual here is the chypre architecture underneath a fruity top. Memories pulls the fruit into a landscape where bergamot, cedar, jasmine, and patchouli do the structural work, each note contributing a different facet of warmth, dryness, and quiet resinous depth. The citrus and sea accord lift everything into something almost saline and bright, while the patchouli and cedar root the composition in something darker and more grounded.
The evolution
