The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Alberto Morillas crafted Daisy Garland as a special collector's edition in 2010, releasing it under Coty's production partnership with Marc Jacobs. This edition shifted the center of gravity entirely toward violet, making it a distinctly different proposition within the Daisy line. The packaging doubled down on the concept: blue daisies and clouds decorated the carton, with floral petals rising toward a bluish sky on the bottle's stopper. It was an edition that asked you to look up, to consider a cooler, more contemplative take on the Daisy universe. The violet heart feels deliberate and considered, a choice that rewards those who appreciate the cooler end of the floral spectrum.
Violet occupies an unusual space in perfumery, familiar enough to feel cozy, distinctive enough to polarize. In Daisy Garland, violet takes center stage, supported by green florals that keep the whole thing cool and airy rather than heavy or syrupy. The result is a composition that reads almost transparent in its openness. The green florals blend seamlessly with the violet heart, creating a feeling of morning freshness and natural elegance.
The evolution
The opening hits cool and immediate, green florals that feel like they've been standing in morning air. There's no waiting period here. Within minutes, violet takes over and the composition starts to bloom properly, not expanding outward but deepening inward, becoming richer and more intimate as the green recedes. The heart is where this fragrance does its real work: a violet accord that sits close to the skin and grows quietly confident rather than loud. The drydown adds a powdery warmth to the violet while introducing a soft woody base, the scent lingers close, intimate, and warm for hours.
Cultural impact
Daisy Garland arrived in 2010 as a collector's edition, a deliberate curatorial move rather than a mainline release. The packaging alone told you something different was happening: blue daisies and clouds, a blue floral motif on the carton, flowers rising toward sky on the stopper. This edition stood apart from the rest of the Daisy line, offering something more specific and curated. The cooler violet heart and green florals created an entirely different wearing experience, one that appealed to those seeking a more composed, airy take on the Daisy spirit.
