The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Floral Vanilla was created by Emma Jane Leah for Fleurage, the Australian fragrance house founded in 2011. Its direction is deliberately traditional in feel, built around a floral core softened by creamy vanilla beans. That combination gives the composition a clear point of view: flowers lead, but they don't wander. The name says exactly what it promises, which is rather refreshing in a world of elaborate perfume stories. Rose and jasmine bring the elegance, while vanilla introduces a warmer, more tactile finish that keeps the fragrance from feeling like a simple bouquet.
The interesting part is the balance between floral lift and vanilla comfort. Rose brings a polished, recognisable shape to the composition, while jasmine adds a soft white-floral glow. Vanilla then changes the temperature of both, turning something airy and decorative into a scent with a little more skin contact. The result isn't a study in sharp contrasts. It's a study in gentle persuasion, with enough sweetness to feel comforting and enough floral structure to remain elegant.
The evolution
On skin, Floral Vanilla begins with the impression of a clean floral gesture, then settles into a softer arrangement where the vanilla becomes more apparent. The rose and jasmine keep the center composed, while the creamy warmth of vanilla pulls the whole composition inward. Rather than changing into a different fragrance, it changes its distance. That's the trick. It moves from polished petals to something warmer and more tactile, leaving a gentle sweetness in the air after the sharper floral impression has faded. On fabric or skin, expect it to remain intimate and easy to notice.
Cultural impact
Fleurage sits within an independent Australian fragrance scene shaped by romantic maximalism and expressive perfumery. Floral Vanilla reflects that sensibility through a clear, emotionally legible idea: flowers with a creamy counterweight. Its appeal lies in making softness look deliberate rather than faint.
