Why it exists.
The beginning
My Melody arrived in 2010 from Demeter Fragrance Library. This one reaches for the soft side of the pantry: almond and vanilla, the duo that anchors everything from marzipan to frangipane, from birthday cake frosting to the inside of a pastry box on a slow Sunday morning. There's no floral interlude, no smoky twist at the base. Demeter trusted the two notes to carry the whole composition. The name suggests a sweetness with a tune to it, a little melody playing in the background while you bake, or while someone you love is baking somewhere nearby. The almond opens with a marzipan softness, that slightly oily sweetness you get from ground almonds at room temperature, before the vanilla steps forward and drapes everything in its familiar warmth.
