Clean released Air in 2015, and the fragrance occupies a unique space within the brand's catalogue. The scent translates the sensation of fresh outdoor air into a wearable format, stripping away heaviness in favor of something weightless and cool. Rather than building a composition around dominant florals or sweet gourmands, Air centers on atmosphere itself, an approach that lets the fragrance read more as an environment than a statement. The opening pushes bergamot blossom forward with a sharp, almost mineral clarity, and the inclusion of an actual 'Air Accord' gives the entire structure a distinctly breezy lift. Green notes thread through early, keeping the brightness from tipping into something sterile.
What's interesting here is the inclusion of an actual 'Air Accord' in the top notes, a deliberate construction of freshness rather than a reliance on conventional citrus shortcuts. Combined with bergamot blossom and a synthetic aldehydic lift in the heart, the composition reads as transparent and atmospheric from the first spray. The evolution
The first 15 minutes are the sharpest. Bergamot blossom cuts through with a cold, almost metallic brightness, and the air accord gives everything a slightly chilled, atmospheric quality, like stepping outside on a gray morning.
