A house, in its own words
Stina Seger, known professionally as Bibbi, was born in Sweden and later established herself in Paris. Her professional background lies in graphic design, a discipline that informs her approach to building fragrance narratives. Seger's entry into perfumery occurred alongside her husband, Jan Seger, who founded Vilhelm Parfums. The couple's shared interest in scent created a creative partnership that eventually led Seger to develop her own olfactory vision. In 2023, she launched Bibbi as an independent house, channeling her experiences and inner journeys into a cohesive collection of fragrances. The house emerged from a desire to create scents that captured personal emotional territories rather than following conventional market categories. Seger's Swedish roots combined with her Parisian environment give the brand a cross-cultural sensibility. The house maintains creative independence while existing within a perfume landscape shaped by her husband's established work in the niche fragrance sector.
The Bibbi Paris philosophy centers on fragrance as a vehicle for internal exploration. Seger describes her work as transforming inner journeys into scent, positioning perfume as a tool for self-understanding rather than mere decoration. Her approach treats fragrance as a gateway to the subconscious, inviting wearers to engage with scent on an introspective level. The house rejects the notion of perfume as purely commercial product, instead treating each release as a chapter in an ongoing narrative of personal discovery. Seger operates as founder and creative director, maintaining direct involvement in the conceptual development of each fragrance. Her perspective as a designer translates into fragrances conceived as complete sensory experiences rather than singular accords. The house operates without linked perfumers in its public-facing materials, suggesting Seger maintains creative direction over formulation alongside external fragrance houses.
