Nicole Mancini Issaq
Nicole Mancini Issaq fell into perfumery almost by accident. She graduated Cum Laude from Montclair State University with a psychology degree and a biochemistry minor, intending a brief stint in the industry before attending chiropractic school. That detour became a career. She earned a coveted spot in the prestigious Givaudan Perfumery School and never looked back, joining the company in 2000. Over two decades, she climbed from junior perfumer to Senior Perfumer, and now serves as Principal Perfumer at dsm-firmenich's Fine Fragrance Experience Team in North America. Her background in psychology shapes how she approaches fragrance creation—she understands emotion, memory, and the subtle triggers that make a scent land. Her unique American perspective, rooted in an East Coast upbringing, gives her an edge in fine fragrance. She has worked with notable clients including KKW Fragrance in 2020, demonstrating her versatility across different brand aesthetics.

Musk, vanilla, amber, and sandalwood recur as anchor ingredients—each chosen for their ability to create inviting, intimate experiences. She favors smooth, creamy textures over bright, sharp ones. Rather than chasing novelty for its own sake, she focuses on crafting comforting scents with emotional weight. Her biochemistry background adds precision to her creative intuition, allowing her to build complex, layered impressions from seemingly simple materials.
