The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
BFF arrives from the Kimoji Hearts collection, a fragrance line built around the idea that closeness has a scent. Perfumer Nicole Mancini Issaq translated that concept into something immediate and inviting, wild berries, pink rose, vanilla marshmallow. The composition doesn't ask you to wait for it to develop. It opens ready.
What makes BFF work is the tension between brightness and softness. The top notes, wild berries, star apple, red currant, arrive in a burst of tart-sweet energy. But jasmine sambac and pink rose soften the landing, preventing the sweetness from becoming sticky. The cedar base grounds the whole thing, keeping the marshmallow from floating away entirely. It's a fragrance built for proximity, the kind you want on a couch, not across a room.
The evolution
The opening hits fast: berries, tartness, something almost effervescent. Star apple joins within minutes, crisp, sweet, a little tropical. The red currant fades as the floral heart takes over. Pink rose and jasmine sambac arrive together, warmer than the opening suggested. Pear blossom adds a quiet sweetness. This is the phase people describe as "fruit cupcake", it's earned. The drydown is where BFF earns its longevity. Vanilla marshmallow and cedar settle in, soft and warm, and they stay. The cedar doesn't overpower, it frames, keeps the sweetness from cloying. As it settles, it becomes skin-warm and intimate. Not a room-filler anymore. Just yours. The sweetness lingers close to the skin, wrapping around like a soft memory rather than announcing itself to the room.
Cultural impact
BFF sits comfortably in the celebrity fragrance space, accessible, sweet. The Kimoji Hearts branding resonates with the KKW Fragrance audience, connecting with fans who appreciate its vibrant personality and relatable sensibility. It's not trying to be sophisticated. It's trying to be the one your friend reaches for.
