    Marine Ipert

Marine Ipert grew up under the Provençal sun, where the scent of lavender and sea salt lingered in every breeze. At thirteen she met a Grasse perfumer, and the encounter sparked a resolve that guided her toward the world of fragrance. She enrolled at ISIPCA in 2010, mastering both chemistry and artistic composition. Two years as an apprentice at International Flavors & Fragrances sharpened her technical acuity, while a stint at Symrise deepened her understanding of raw material sourcing. In 2023 she joined Takasago International as a perfumer, bringing a blend of scientific rigor and poetic intuition to the house’s global portfolio. Her career reflects a steady climb built on curiosity, discipline, and an unwavering love for scent.

    How Marine composes

Marine favors a structural approach that starts with a clear backbone—often a mineral or marine accord—then layers nuanced florals or spices to create depth. She leans on ingredients such as seaweed absolute, Calabrian bergamot, and Tuscan lavender, pairing them with modern synthetics like Calone to evoke freshness without sacrificing longevity. Her compositions often feature a crisp opening that evolves into a warm, resonant dry‑down, revealing subtle facets only after the skin settles. She values transparency in ingredient sourcing, preferring sustainably harvested raw materials that support the ecosystems she draws inspiration from.

    Philosophy

    What drives Marine

Marine believes that a perfume should capture a moment as clearly as a photograph captures light. She approaches each brief with a question: what feeling does the client want to freeze in time? Her work respects the balance between tradition and innovation, honoring classic accords while daring to juxtapose unexpected notes. She trusts her nose to reveal hidden connections, allowing the chemistry of a formula to tell its own story. For her, the most compelling scents emerge when emotion guides the lab, not the other way around.
