    James Krivda

James Krivda grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, surrounded by apple orchards and farmland. He started at Firmenich's compounding lab in 1985, during his freshman year of college, and never left the fragrance world. After switching from Biology to Chemistry, Krivda trained under Grasse-born Master Perfumer Elie Roger, who taught him to revere natural raw materials. Krivda entered Firmenich's formal program in 1988, rotated through analytical, household, and personal care disciplines, and completed his training with a stint at headquarters in Geneva. He launched his fine fragrance career at Firmenich's New York Creative Studio in 1992, later worked at Fragrance Resources, and joined Mane in 2008, where he now serves as Senior Perfumer and Vice President. Krivda's industry leadership runs deep: he led the American Society of Perfumers as president in 2001, sat on Allured Publishing's board, and currently serves on the World Perfumery Congress Advisory Board. His work spans mass-market icons like Britney Spears Fantasy to prestige collaborations, proving he understands both the art and the business of scent.
