Mad Tea Party was imagined in 2023 when Le Frag’s founder Agnieszka Lewandowska asked perfumer Jimmy Bodin to translate Lewis Carroll’s line “If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense” into scent. The brief called for a whimsical tea‑time scene that felt both nostalgic and slightly off‑kilter. Bodin answered with black tea and blackcurrant as a crisp opening, then layered iris, milk, butter and a splash of whisky to capture the absurd comfort of a mad banquet.

Black tea gives the fragrance a brisk, tannic edge that contrasts with the sweet, creamy heart. Iris provides a powdery elegance, while milk and butter turn the composition into a velvety gourmand. The whisky note adds an unexpected warmth and a faint smoky bite, bridging the tea’s austerity with the toffee‑cacao base, which anchors the scent in a lingering, dessert‑like finish.

At first the spray releases a brisk black‑tea steam, bright as a freshly steeped cup, instantly tinged with the tartness of blackcurrant. Within ten minutes the aroma softens, the iris‑milk accord unfurls like a silk scarf, while butter and a whisper of whisky create a buttery, slightly boozy warmth that feels like a secret toast among friends. As the scent settles after half an hour, the gourmand base of toffee and cacao emerges, coating the skin in a sweet, smoky veil that lingers for six to eight hours, fading only to a faint, creamy whisper by the next day.
