Golden Decade & Warm Saffron arrived in 2025 as part of the Golden Decade series from Zara. The original Golden Decade established a reputation built on warmth and radiance, and this composition takes that foundation and shifts it sideways, pulling saffron, suede, and praline into the frame alongside the established DNA. It's a study in contrast: the delicacy of violet set against the exotic warmth of red saffron, anchored by an osmanthus heart that bridges both registers. The extrait concentration, sitting at around thirty percent, delivers a more concentrated and longer-wearing interpretation of the Golden Decade idea, treating the established formula as a foundation to build upon rather than a strict blueprint.
The interesting move is the saffron-suede-praline triangle. Saffron brings exotic heat to the composition, suede lends a buttery, skin-like softness, and praline pushes toward gourmand sweetness. Osmanthus weaves through with its apricot undertones, while violet dusts the whole composition with powdery restraint. What makes this composition work is restraint. The praline doesn't overwhelm, the suede doesn't flatten, and the saffron holds its character instead of dissolving into generic warmth.
