The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Whipped Fluff by Mr. Sniffles arrived in 2025 as one of the more curious entries in The Dua Brand's expanding gourmand catalog, and the first marshmallow fragrance the house developed with artificial intelligence as a creative collaborator. The brand's house persona, Mr. Sniffles, a tiny-capped bunny mascot with a documented sweet tooth, is credited as the conceptual paw-stamp on the final formula. The nose behind the composition is Mahsam Raza, who has been steering Dua's development out of Los Angeles since founding the label in 2016. This particular project traded the brand's usual architectural recreations for something simpler and more indulgent: a single mood, executed without compromise. The goal was never subtlety. The goal was a marshmallow that tastes like a marshmallow.
What makes the composition interesting isn't the list of notes; it's the layering of the same idea in three different textures. Roasted marshmallow brings the smoky char from a campfire stick. Vanilla sugar and caramel latte add a baked sweetness. The air accord is the secret, a diffusive quality that keeps the heavier elements from collapsing into a single sticky mass. The base is mostly resin and air, which is a choice. It means the fragrance doesn't get louder as it dries. It gets softer. Most gourmands do the opposite, piling on the sweetness until the wearer can't smell it anymore. This one lets the milk and the cream do the quiet work in the final hours.
The evolution
The first thirty minutes are the loudest the fragrance ever gets, and they're loud on purpose. Vanilla sugar and caramel hit together, sweet enough to register before the skin warms it. The roasted marshmallow arrives fast, almost immediately, carrying that campfire char that keeps the opening from reading as candy. By the two-hour mark, the caramel has settled and the marshmallow has lost its crisp edge. What replaces it is cream, milk, and a soft musk that moves the scent from confection toward skin. Around hour four, the base resins start showing up, and the fragrance shifts from sweet to warm. It reads less like dessert and more like the room after dessert. On fabric, the vanilla sugar clings for another 6-8 hours. On skin, expect roughly 4-6 hours of close, creamy presence before it fades into something barely there but still recognizable.
Cultural impact
Within Dua's catalog, Whipped Fluff by Mr. Sniffles sits firmly in the gourmand lane, the kind of fragrance that pulls in buyers who already trust the brand's value-for-money positioning and want something indulgent without ceremony. The AI-assisted development angle, paired with the Mr. Sniffles mascot credit, gives it a novelty that distinguishes it from a crowded marshmallow-gourmand field. It's the fragrance a curious buyer picks up on a whim, and the one a returning buyer keeps around for specific moods.
