Why it exists.
The beginning
Self Love Absolute arrived in 2026 from The Dua Brand. Mahsam Raza composed this one as part of the Dua Designer Line. The composition leans into caramelized fig, jasmine absolu, and rich amber accord. Three materials, each given space to register on its own terms before blending into a unified whole. The fig arrives candied and dense, carrying that syrupy sweetness of fruit cooked down past its fresh state into something darker and more concentrated. Jasmine absolu brings its creamy white floral weight, the kind of blossom scent that fills a room before you've even noticed it's there. The amber accord provides a warm, golden base that anchors both materials without flattening their individual characters. Nothing competes for attention here.
What's interesting here is the restraint. Self Love Absolute works with three notes, and it gives each one the room to actually perform rather than crowding the composition with additional voices. The caramelized fig accord brings a sweetness that reads almost gourmand, dense and unapologetic in its sticky character. The jasmine absolu carries a creamy white floral edge, the kind of indolic quality that gives the bloom its almost animalic depth.
The evolution
The first 15 minutes are almost entirely fig, that caramel sweetness sitting heavy on the skin like something between dessert wine and a spoonful of dark honey. The syrupy quality registers immediately, dense and warm, coating the air close to your pulse points. Then the jasmine pushes through, bringing a creamy white floral that softens the fig's stickiness without killing it. The interplay between the two materials creates something that smells simultaneously edible and floral, the sweetness tempered by the jasmine's natural depth. By the 2-hour mark the amber has taken over the architecture, and the jasmine fades into something quieter, more skin-like, almost indistinguishable from your own warmth.
