The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Mahsam Raza built Passionberry Bubblegum in 2025 as part of The Dua Brand's Dua Designer Line. Tropical fruit forms the top, candy florals fill the middle, and a creamy sandalwood-vanilla base holds the whole confection together. The passion fruit opens tart and electric, the raspberry and lychee lending a jammy sweetness that borders on candied. A burst of citrus zest threads through the upper register, giving the opening a sparkling lift before the guava settles in underneath with a syrupy, almost tropical weight. The violet and jasmine arrive in the heart, softening the fruit into something powdery and distinctly confection-like, while the bourbon vanilla weaves through with a soft, creamy sweetness that bridges the playful top into the warmer base.
The trick with candy fragrances is that most of them collapse within the first hour, dissolving into nothing but a sweet memory. What separates Passionberry Bubblegum from compositions that lose their shape early is its structural backbone. The sandalwood and white musk do quiet work underneath, giving the passion fruit and bubblegum a floor to land on instead of letting them evaporate into thin air. The violet candy and bourbon vanilla add a powdery dimension that keeps the sweetness from reading as juvenile.
The evolution
The opening is a riot of tropical and candy energy. Passion fruit hits first, tart and electric, followed almost immediately by raspberry, lychee, and a burst of citrus zest that fizzes like carbonation on the tongue. Guava rolls in underneath, giving the opening a syrupy depth that prevents it from reading as merely fruity. There is an almost effervescent quality here, a sense that the fruit is suspended in something sparkling rather than sitting flat on the skin. The sweetness builds quickly, but it never tips into cloying territory because the tartness of the passion fruit and the bright citrus keep the whole thing lifted. As the composition settles, the bubblegum accord arrives in full force, sweet and unmistakably synthetic in the best way, paired with jasmine and violet that soften the edges into something powdery and nostalgic.
Cultural impact
Passionberry Bubblegum speaks to anyone who wants their fragrance to feel like a treat rather than a statement. It's a composition that leans fully into its own sweetness, tapping into the nostalgia of candy-shop summers and the particular joy of unwrapping a fresh piece of bubblegum when the flavor is at its most vivid. For wearers who gravitate toward compositions that prioritize pleasure over projection, this is a fragrance that delivers exactly what its name promises.
