The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Hi, My Love! arrived in 2024 as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line. Perfumer Mahsam Raza composed it as a take on Fendi's Ciao Amore, pulling the flirty heart of that original into a three-note structure built entirely from absolutes. The name does the heavy lifting. It reads like a text sent too soon, which is exactly the energy the juice delivers: confident, a little reckless, designed for the wearer who leans in rather than waiting. There's no scaffolding, no filler florals cushioning the composition. Orange blossom absolute, fig leaf, and tonka bean absolute carry the entire weight of the fragrance on their own, each one doing the work that lesser compositions spread across six or seven materials.
The decision to build the entire composition around orange blossom absolute, fig leaf, and tonka bean absolute is a study in restraint. Most florals need supporting scaffolding, but here the three materials do all the work. Orange blossom absolute opens with a radiant, almost luminous quality, a brightness that carries warmth beneath its floral surface. Fig leaf contributes a clean, green snap that lifts the composition and keeps it from veering too sweet. Tonka bean absolute grounds everything in a soft, warm depth that feels lived-in from the first spray.
The evolution
Orange blossom absolute opens the composition with a bright, almost luminous quality, radiant and confident from the first spray. There's something warm beneath that initial brightness, like sunlight filtered through white petals, giving the opening an immediate sense of closeness rather than distance. The floral character is present but never stuffy, reading more like a living flower than a perfume interpretation. As the composition develops, fig leaf steps forward into the foreground. The green arrives with intention, cutting through the orange blossom's sweetness and pulling the composition into sharper focus. This is where the fragrance finds its center of gravity. The orange blossom doesn't disappear entirely, but it shares the stage, creating a dynamic where floral warmth and green coolness play off each other.
Cultural impact
Hi, My Love! sits within The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line, a 2024 release composed by Mahsam Raza as a reinterpretation of Fendi's Ciao Amore. The original Ciao Amore carries its own reputation as a flirty, sunlit floral, and this composition pulls that same energy into a tighter, more focused form. The three-note structure (orange blossom absolute, fig leaf, and tonka bean absolute) distills the mood of the reference into something leaner and more direct. Where the original might spread its charm across a broader palette, Hi, My Love! concentrates everything into a handful of materials, each one carrying significant weight.
